Galaxy S6 Edge Plus update: Android 9 Pie; AT&T rolls out August patch
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus came about in the second half of and runs Android Lollipop out of the box. Like any other Samsung flagship phone, the S6 Edge Plus has been receiving regular software updates, monthly and major OS upgrades, but the latter case is no more.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is not eligible for the Android 9 Pie update, it’s simple. That’s because OEMs usually support the device for major updates for only two years and the S6 Edge+ is well past that support period.
With luck, you may see Pie update become available via the unofficial channel of custom ROMs, whether that be LineageOS 16 or, even better, the Project Treble based Android 9 GSI system image. But as noted, there’s no guarantee.

→ The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is not eligible for the Android Oreo update.
It was reported earlier that Samsung may be developing Oreo update for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus as T-Mobile’s software pages indicated that (see below), but since then, T-Mobile has taken down that page which makes us believe that it was an error on their part. So, it seems settled now that the S6 Edge Plus won’t receive the Android update.
